Cycling between the seafront, Via D'Amelio and the Tree of Falcone: to reach symbolic places outside the city centre, there's nothing better than getting on a bike and going green.

As you ride through the pedestrianised areas of the historic centre and the cycle paths that link it to the outlying areas, you will discover a Palermo that is renewed "in body and soul", that year after year leaves behind the wounds inflicted by Mafia violence, culminating in the 1992 massacres.

Twelve kilometres between the centre and the suburbs to discover, by bicycle, the city that is reborn and that does not forget. A tribute due to the memory of men such as judges Falcone and Borsellino, whose blood has triggered the awakening of civil conscience and laid the foundations for a new Sicily: the young people who will not give up and who are committed to completing that path of change, the Libera and Addiopizzo generation.

The route is mostly on flat land and mostly on cycle paths or dedicated bike areas. However, as it is in an urban context, it also passes roads open to motor vehicle traffic.

We recommend that participants, especially children, are used to cycling in the city. The programme is subject to change in view of days and times when museums and restaurants are closed, as well as the availability of witnesses.
